JULIA RICKETTS

"Although a painting can present but one face to the world, it is produced by evolution, and as such evokes our own development and search for wholeness,” writes artist Julia Ricketts.

In her recent work, Ricketts employs an abstract vocabulary of forms combined in rhythmic compositions. Her new series, "Meditations", explores tonal variation within a format inspired by ruled writing paper.  Bands of subtle color create horizontal chords, suggesting phrases of music or lines of poetry.
